Trail Description:
For families ready to stretch their legs (and their horizons), the Vf. Bistriciorul Loop delivers a true mountain experience. 🏔️🎒
Starting near Mița, the trail winds upward through thick pine forests and open alpine meadows. Along the way, hikers pass by Refugiul Bistriciorul (the Bistriciorul Shelter)—a small mountain hut offering a great place for a rest, a snack, and a few photos.
From there, the trail climbs toward Vârful Bistriciorul (Bistriciorul Peak), standing proudly at 1,990 meters. On clear days, the summit rewards hikers with jaw-dropping 360° views of the Călimani Mountains—perfect for that “We made it!” family selfie! 📸🏔️
The loop continues gently downhill through pastures and forests, completing a truly memorable day.
Family Tip:
This hike is best suited for families with active teens or younger kids who already enjoy longer hikes. Bring layers (temperatures can drop quickly near the summit), enough food and water for the day, and sun protection. 🌤️🥾
